Twin Brothers Racing Team
10/07/2008Racing season over
The final race of the season is in the books. The Twin Brothers Racing team struggled with qualifying, but had a strong performance with an ill-handling car to finish 9th in the main event. Loran did an excellent job keeping the car going straight and moving forward. With the points from the final race, the team moved into 10th place in the final points standing for the year.
For the off season the two major projects will be to go through the motor, complete rebuild, and disassemble clean and reassemble the suspension components. For the website, the hope is to be able to get pictures up from the last two seasons. As time permits the race car will be on display when possible. Please check back as we will try to post where and when the car and the team will be out. Thanks for the support and we'll see you at the races.
09/30/2008Last Race of the Season
A bit of technical difficulties, but just wanted to let everyone know that stops by that our last race is tomorrow, Saturday September 20, down at South Sound Speedway. Loran will be driving, qualifying at 5, racing starts at 6.
Also want to thank one of our new sponsors, Wild Horse BBQ in Poulsbo. If y'all want some delicious BBQ, this is the place you want to go!! Check out their web site and stop by their store!
09/20/2008Fun Weekends
For all of you that didn't stop by the hydro plane races, you missed out! All though rain was the order of the day on Saturday, it was a great day on Sunday with a large attendence. It was a pleasure to meet a lot of new people and make some new friends.
Time at the track this past weekend was very hot and busy. To start off the day, during the tirp down a spring bracket broke on the trailer. After getting that welded up, it was back on the road to the track. With wholesale shock and spring changes the TBR team was able to qualify 9th out of 14 cars. Bryan held on to a mis-handling car for the 50 lap main event and was able to finish 10th.
Hopefully before the end of the season there will be a couple more oportunities to come out and see the car on display and support the team sponsors. We'll keep everyone posted on that.
See you at the races!
08/19/2008Hard Weekend
Another flat right front tire during the 50 lap main event relegated Loran and his ride to the back of the pack. Loran did a superb job of keeping the car off the wall when the tire went down around lap 20 and made it back out to finish the final 12 laps of competition. August 16 Bryan will be back in the drivers seat for another attempt.
On a brighter note, this weekend is the Hydro Plane races in Silverdale. The car will be on display with the RC boat race tank near the water front. Please stop bye if you get a chance.
08/08/2008Season half over
Wow, how time flies, the summer is more than half over and the Twin Brothers Racing team only has 5 races left. To get everyone up to speed, (due to the lack of posting) Loran had an exciting 100 lap race on July 5. He was looking at a solid top ten finish until a right front tire went flat forcing a pit stop on lap 60. With a quick tire change he was able to get back on the track and finish 14th. On July 19th Bryan had a formadable 50 lap race, sustaining substantial damage to the front of the TBR Monte Carlo. Hopefully there will be pictures of the damage and the repair work on the web site soon. Bryan was able to hang on and finish the race in 9th place, one lap down. This weekend, August 2, Loran jumps into the driver seat again with a complete change in the spring and shock package, the team is constatly working to find the perfect set up!
Just a reminder, come visit the team and the car on display at the Silverdale water front on August 9th and 10th for Silverdale Thunder hydroplane races.
We'll see you at the Races!
07/30/2008CAR ON DISPLAY
For those of you out and about on Saturday, June 28, the car will be out on display at one of the teams long appreciated sponsors, Discount Tire in East Bremerton. Please stop bye and say hi to the guys and let Discount Tire take care of any of your tire needs!
We at Twin Brothers Racing are also excited to anounce that the #21 Monte Carlo will be on display August 9th and 10th at the Silverdale Thunder event in at the Silverdale waterfront in old town. This will be two days of hydro plane racing and good times! Please stop bye to say hi to Loran or Bryan as they hang out with the car to answer any questions folks might have.
As for last weekends racing, Bryan had a good day at the track, improving the teams best qualifying time by 3 tenths of a second to a 14.3 on the first lap of the two lap session. With what turned into a tight car when the sun went down, he still had a strong run in the main event to finish 9th on the lead lap. The team was very happy with the weekend results, but will again try to improve qualifying time and finishing order with spring and wedge adjustments at the next race, July 5th.
We'll see you at the races.
06/28/2008At the Races
It was another tough weekend at the race track for the Twin Brothers Racing team. With a new shock package, the team strugled with adjustments throughout the two practice sesions to get the car to turn in the middle. With spring changes and taking wedge out of the car, Loran was dissapointed with a qualifying time of a 14.63 (15th of 22 cars) with the car getting sideways out of turn four on the final lap. Finally ending the night on lap 25 during the 75 lap main event. brake problems forced the TBR21 team to park the car for safety reason.
With two weeks to get ready for Bryan to take the wheel on June 21st, the team will be busy at work adressing the brake issues and making adjustments to find that perfect set-up.
The team looks forward to seeing you at the races for the next action packed night!
06/10/2008At the Races!
Three races are now in the books for the Twin Brothers Racing Team. With a strong seventh place finish for Loran four weeks ago and a 12th place finish for Bryan two week, the team currently sits 11th in the points race. The team was hard at work the last couple of weeks to make set up changes to improve qualifying times and become more competitive, only to have the May 10th race rain out during morning practice. With a few changes, Bryan will be in the drivers seat for the race on May 24th. We look forward to seeing you at the track!
On May 17th, the Twin Brothers Racing #21 Monte Carlo will be in the Armed Forces Day Parade in association with The Royal Rangers Camp entrant.
